SUMMARY:Want to Foster or Adopt? Start With This Free Class in Hiawatha
DESCRIPTION:More than 6\,000 Kansas children and teens need foster families to open their hearts and homes. It only takes ONE caring adult to change a child’s life. How about you? \nOne of the first and most important steps to become a licensed foster or adoptive parent is to complete TIPS-MAPP training (Trauma-Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting). This class prepares you to care for a child who has experienced trauma and helps you build many other skills in your journey to become a foster or adoptive parent. TIPS-MAPP also aids you in determining if fostering or adopting is right for you. \nKVC Kansas offers this course at no cost to you. Classes will be held in-person in Hiawatha from 5:30-8:30pm every Monday. Class starts June 12\, 2023 and ends August 14\, 2023. Class size is limited so sign up today! \nEnrollment and trainings can fill quickly so please reach out soon if interested.
