SUMMARY:Become the Heart of a Mockingbird Family Constellation
DESCRIPTION:We all need connection\, especially the families and youth we serve. KVC Kansas is launching a new Mockingbird Family “constellation\,” and we are looking for a compassionate\, community-minded leader to serve as a Hub Home Parent. \nAs a Hub Home Parent\, you aren’t just a foster parent; you are a mentor and a host for a small “constellation” of nearby foster and kinship families. You’ll help create a micro-community where foster parents feel supported and children and teens in foster care remain connected to a stable\, loving network. \nIn this role\, you will: \nCreate Community: Host monthly constellation meals and quarterly family fun events (like movie nights or park outings). \nProvide Support: Offer planned and emergency respite care in your home\, keeping two licensed beds available for youth in your constellation. \nBe a Guide: Act as a peer supporter\, helping other families navigate challenges and find the resources they need. \nIs this role right for you?\nIf you are a licensed foster parent (or ready to become one) who genuinely enjoys hosting\, relationship-building\, and supporting other caregivers\, we want to meet you! \nVirtual Information Sessions:\nJoin us for a casual virtual chat to learn more about the Hub Home Parent role\, the Mockingbird Family model\, and how you can make a meaningful impact on families in our community. \nOption 1: Tuesday\, July 30 at 6:00 p.m. \nOption 2: Saturday\, August 3 at 6:00 p.m.
