SUMMARY:Caring For Our Own- Kinship Support Group- Kansas City
DESCRIPTION:Raising another generation of family members is never the same as raising your children and not always as easy.  There are different types of challenges\, struggles and joys that come with raising relatives.  The goal of Caring For Our Own is to provide a supportive environment for kinship caregivers to share their experiences\, as well as develop skills to help support stability and dependability for the children placed in their homes. \nCaring For Our Own is a nine week support group designed to provide kinship caregivers with assistance and ideas to help them work in partnership with the helping network\, the children and the birth parents. \nCaring For Our Own will meet on Tuesdays from 6:00- 8:00 pm starting March 28th through May 23rd at Avenue of Life in Kansas City.  Space is limited\, click here to register for this support group.  Childcare is provided and a free dinner will be served at 5:30 before the training begins.  Contact the worker below with questions.
