DESCRIPTION:KVC is pleased to participate in another Collaborative Training with KFAPA\, Children’s Alliance\, The Shelter and St. Francis. Coping with Trauma Reminders and Children in Foster Care and the Holiday Stress will be a 2-hour training on November 10th at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence. There will be child care\, snacks and a family activities. \nAt the completion of this training participants will: \n\n\nIdentify what is a trauma reminder\nUnderstand the role the 5 senses play in trauma reminders\nIdentify flashbacks and ways to identify them\nIdentify the 5 R’s in dealing with trauma reminders\nLearn ways to reduce stress for children in care\nLearn how to help support during the holidays\nBe able to identify signs of grief and loss to watch for\nHear ways to help with birth family success and learn ways to make family get together more successful\n\n\nVisit the Children’s Alliance website for more information and to register.
