SUMMARY:LIFE Mentoring Program Kick-Off
DESCRIPTION:KVC recently launched a new initiative to support teenagers who are transitioning out of foster care without having been safely reunited with their families or adopted. L.I.F.E. stands for “Launch Info Future Excellence.” Through the L.I.F.E. program\, KVC will put together a team of people (professionals\, community contacts\, church members and others the youth designates) who will support and encourage these teens. \nAre you willing to help a young person transition into adulthood? L.I.F.E. coaches must be 25 years of age or older\, pass a background check\, have a stable living environment and transportation\, participate in at least 10 hours of training\, complete required paperwork\, and give their time to make a difference in a young adult’s life. L.I.F.E. coaches can either be mentors or provide a place for the youth to live and call home. \nJoin us for the L.I.F.E. kick-off event: \nMission Bowl (1020 S Weaver St\, Olathe KS 66061) \nJune 10th from 6-8pm. \nFor more info on the L.I.F.E. program\, email KVCLIFE@kvc.org or call Jackie Harwig at (913) 956-5319.
