Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is an attachment-based, trauma, informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, connecting principles for attachment needs, and correcting principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. Foster parents will learn a basic overview of the system including the court system and language, professionals involved in the CINC case and the roles they play, permanency goals and the case planning process, interested party status, visitations, foster parent rights and foster youth rights, responsibilities as a foster parent, understanding the placement agreement and foster care rate structure, training and licensing requirements for foster parents, respite and other resources/services that foster parents may find beneficial.
