About KVC Kansas
KVC Kansas is a private, nonprofit organization that serves over 12,000 children, teens and adults each year. Our team of caring professionals provides family strengthening and foster care prevention services, foster care case management, family reunification services, foster family recruitment and support, kinship care, adoption, aftercare, outpatient therapy and more.
We envision a world in which every person is safe and connected to a strong family and a healthy community.

Lauren Kuhn
Lauren Kuhn serves as an attorney at KVC Kansas, where she provides comprehensive legal support across the organization. In her role, she advises employees on a wide range of legal matters, reviews contracts and legal documents, prepares motions and responses, and offers litigation support. She also plays an active role in employee trainings, internal investigations, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. By collaborating with stakeholders in the child welfare system and contributing to contract and case management processes, Kuhn helps strengthen KVC’s mission to enrich and enhance the lives of children and families.
Before joining KVC, Kuhn worked as a litigation attorney with a strong focus on healthcare law, professional liability, and complex civil litigation. Her background includes defending healthcare providers and institutions in medical negligence and malpractice cases, advising clients on regulatory compliance and risk management, and managing civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts. She also has experience supervising litigation teams and representing clients before licensure boards.
With six years of legal experience, Kuhn brings both deep expertise and a passion for advocacy to her work at KVC. She earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her work has been nationally recognized; she was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America in Elder Law (2023–2025), Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants (2024–2025) and Professional Malpractice Law (2024–2025).
Kuhn is driven by a desire to use her legal background to help children and families thrive. She shares:
