Caring People Needed

Strengthening Families Program: A KVC Kansas Program Archive
This program is no longer offered

The Strengthening Families Program was previously offered by KVC Kansas to help parents and caregivers build stronger communication, healthier relationships and practical parenting skills.
While classes are no longer available, we are grateful to the families, community partners and team members who took part in this work. We’re keeping this page as an overview of the program and to share stories from people who experienced its impact.
About the Program
The Strengthening Families Program was a free, evidence-based parenting class for Kansas parents and caregivers of youth ages 6–17. Through group conversations, activities and practical tools, families had space to strengthen communication, set healthy boundaries and work through everyday parenting challenges.
The program focused on connection. Families learned alongside one another and built skills they could use at home, including:
-
Communicating clearly and setting healthy boundaries
-
Responding to challenging behaviors with practical, positive strategies
-
Building stronger family relationships
-
Supporting youth through stress and other life challenges
A program built around connection
For many families, the Strengthening Families Program created a welcoming place to learn, share experiences and practice new skills together. The program also brought community partners, volunteers and families together around a shared goal: helping children, teens and caregivers feel more supported and connected.
