Coping with Trauma Reminders and Children in Foster Care and the Holiday Stress Training- Lawrence

KVC is pleased to participate in another Collaborative Training with KFAPA, Children’s Alliance, The Shelter and St. Francis. Coping with Trauma Reminders and Children in Foster Care and the Holiday Stress will be a 2-hour training on November 10th at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence. There will be child care, snacks and a family activities.

At the completion of this training participants will:

  • Identify what is a trauma reminder
  • Understand the role the 5 senses play in trauma reminders
  • Identify flashbacks and ways to identify them
  • Identify the 5 R’s in dealing with trauma reminders
  • Learn ways to reduce stress for children in care
  • Learn how to help support during the holidays
  • Be able to identify signs of grief and loss to watch for
  • Hear ways to help with birth family success and learn ways to make family get together more successful
