Families First
Children and teens belong with their own families whenever possible. KVC works to safely reunify hundreds of families each year by providing parenting skills training, therapy and other support.
Caring People Needed
On any given day, KVC Kansas provides out-of-home care for thousands of children and teens. Relatives, non-related kin like teachers and neighbors, and foster parents are all critical to providing temporary care for these children and teens. See how you can make a difference as a foster parent.

National Foster Care Month

May is National Foster Care Month in Kansas and across the nation! Foster care is a safe place that gives a child and their birth family an opportunity to resolve conflicts or disruptions and learn healthy skills so the child can safely return home. Many birth families need help in learning effective parenting skills, overcoming substance use or learning healthy ways to cope with trauma they themselves have experienced.
KVC Kansas proudly licenses and supports hundreds of foster families across central and eastern Kansas, but more foster parents are always needed. If you’d like to learn more about the life-changing impact you can make for children, families and your community, contact us today! Visit kvckansas.org/foster to learn more about the process and requirements or submit this form to speak directly with our team and ask any questions you may have.
