Regional Youth Advisory Council (RYAC) on Money Management – Wichita

February 8, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

teen boy money management

On Wednesday, February 8, join fellow youth ages 14-20 to learn how to create a monthly budget, understand the difference between wants and needs, learn about financial strategies and more! We’ll have free snacks and toiletries available, too.

ALL Kansas youth ages 14 to 20 who are currently experiencing or have experienced out of home placement (foster care) via KS DCF, KDOC-JS or Tribal Authority are invited to participate. All case plan goals are welcome!

I’ll be there! How do I RSVP?

Please note we now have RSVP deadlines the prior Friday for each RYAC meeting. Email Kimberly Duncan at kduncan@kvc.org by Friday, February 3 to RSVP.

When you RSVP please put in the subject line the date of RYAC you are wanting to attend. This helps us ensure we have an accurate count, so we do not cancel an event due to low RSVP.

Example subject line: “1/4/23 RYAC

What is RYAC?

Regional Youth Advisory Councils (RYAC) provide youth an opportunity to meet new friends, learn new life skills and visit with other peers in foster care. It provides the opportunity to become a Kansas Youth Advisory Council (KYAC) member if they so choose. Prize drawings occur on occasion.

Meetings educate youth on a variety of independent living topics to help them learn & understand life skills to gain independence and self-sufficiency as they transition to becoming successful adults. Topics for RYAC include: substance abuse, ACT & college prep, money management, employment & career planning, locating housing, navigating car ownership, self-care, health care, as well as many more!
