Caring People Needed
On any given day, KVC Kansas provides out-of-home care for thousands of children and teens. Relatives, non-related kin like teachers and neighbors, and foster parents are all critical to providing temporary care for these children and teens. See how you can make a difference as a foster parent.

KVC Kansas is a private, nonprofit organization that serves over 12,000 children, teens and adults each year. Our team of caring professionals provides family strengthening and foster care prevention services, foster care case management, family reunification services, foster family recruitment and support, kinship care, adoption, aftercare, outpatient therapy and more.

Thinking about fostering, but unsure what age range you could support? Wondering how fostering might impact your own children or family dynamics?
MAPP Foundations training is the first step in becoming licensed, and a helpful way to decide if, when and how fostering fits into your life. You’re not committing to a specific age, placement type or outcome by attending.
Fostering can look different for every family.
MAPP Foundations Training (Virtual | 5 Weeks)
Tuesdays & Thursdays, March 3 – April 2, 2026
This accelerated MAPP Foundations course provides the same required training in a shorter timeframe.
This MAPP Foundations training helps you understand:
- The needs of children and teens in foster care
- Learn how trauma can affect behavior and development
- How fostering works alongside your current family
- What options exist for different ages and placement types
This training helps you decide what’s right for you and your family.
