Children and teens belong with their own families whenever possible. KVC works to safely reintegrate hundreds of families each year by providing parenting skills training, therapy and other support.
Caring People Needed
On any given day, KVC Kansas provides out-of-home care for thousands of youth. Relatives, non-related kin like teachers and neighbors, and foster families are all critical to providing temporary care for these children and teens. See how you can make a difference.

KVC Kansas is a private, nonprofit organization that serves over 15,000 children and adults each year. Our team of professionals provides family strengthening and preventative services, parent training, foster care case management, family reunification services, foster family recruitment and support, adoption, aftercare, outpatient therapy and more.

Want to Foster or Adopt? Start With This Free Class in Topeka

More than 6,000 Kansas children and teens need foster families to open their hearts and homes. It only takes ONE caring adult to change a child’s life. How about you?
One of the first and most important steps to become a licensed foster or adoptive parent is to complete TIPS-MAPP training (Trauma-Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting). This class prepares you to care for a child who has experienced trauma and helps you build many other skills in your journey to become a foster or adoptive parent. TIPS-MAPP also aids you in determining if fostering or adopting is right for you.
KVC Kansas offers this course at no cost to you. Classes will be held in-person in Topeka from 6-9pm every Wednesday. Class starts September 20, 2023 and ends November 22, 2023. Class size is limited so sign up today!
