Via Christi Auxiliary Donates to KVC Kansas

There are many different ways individuals and groups can help children in foster care. Monetary donations are always an option, but some volunteers strive to offer something more personal for children in need.

Susan Barrett is the Volunteer Services Director for Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS. According to this article in the Four States Homepage, she noticed children in the judicial system using trash bags to transport their possessions. Susan, along with more than 60 Auxiliary volunteers, gathered bags, blankets and toys to donate to KVC Health Systems.

“This is something that we feel there is a great need for. We would love if people have material they can donate, we can always use the material to make the bags,” said Susan.

Thank you to Susan and her team of volunteers for donating these items for children in need! If you would like to get involved, you can drop off items at the Via Christi Hospital located at 1 Mt. Carmel Way, Pittsburg, Kansas 66762 and mention it’s for the Auxiliary. Items needed are blankets, school supplies, stuffed animals and toys.
