Community Rallies to Provide School Supplies for Youth in Foster Care

This past weekend, foster parents and KVC staff gathered at the Atchison, Kansas Wal-Mart to collect school supplies for children and youth in foster care. Each summer, KVC works to gather backpacks, binders, markers, and other necessary school supplies for over 3,000 children in foster care

Join us for some other school supply drives in your area:

  • Saturday, July 19th from 9am to 1pm at the Ottawa Kansas State Bank
  • Sunday, July 27th from 10am to 2pm at Hy-Vee, located at 87th and Pflumm in Lenexa
  • Sunday, July 27th from 2pm to 6pm at Wal-Mart at the Legends in Kansas City, Kansas

Donating school supplies is a great way to help children in your local community! KVC urges members of the community to take their support to the next step and become a foster or adoptive parent, mentor youth through the LIFE program or contact your local KVC to find other ways to volunteer your time.  Everyone can make a difference!

“Just get involved with our kids; our kids are our future and they’re who we should be taking care of and who we should be helping to have a hand up in life,” said Brianna Howell, KVC Family Service Coordinator
