Following tradition, many judges open their courthouse on the weekend before Thanksgiving to complete adoptions and bring smiles to the faces of children and adults alike. In total this November, nonprofit KVC Kansas is helping to facilitate the adoptions of nearly sixty children in the Kansas City area, Topeka and other parts of eastern Kansas.
National Adoption Day is an effort to raise awareness for the more than 100,000 children waiting to find their forever families.
