KVC Kansas

Families united after difficult chapter

On June 27, 2014 at Gage Park in Topeka, KS, KVC honored all families who successfully completed reintegration after facing significant difficulties. The event was carnival-themed with food, games, pictures and prizes. The event was a huge success and the families seemed to enjoy the opportunity to spend quality time with each other while eating, laughing, playing and celebrating their hard work. KVC received a lot of donations from the community which allowed the families to walk away with raffle baskets with household supplies and games. KVC staff and families had a great time and all walked away with positive feelings of accomplishment.

Each family that attended the event are currently participating in KVC’s Aftercare Program which includes intensive in-home family therapy to help keep children safe and stable in their homes. Through the program, KVC connects families with community services including medical or behavioral health services, education or legal assistance.

This was the first year KVC held the event in Topeka, KS. This event will continue to be held yearly in order to celebrate the success of the families we serve. KVC is very grateful for the support from the community through donations and volunteers who spent time to make this event a success including:
