Wichita and Topeka KVC foster families were selected for the 2014 Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program. KVC received 300 certificates and will help distribute more than $1.5 million worth of free shoes to children in need. The in-store shopping event will be coordinated in the Topeka area for children in care to pick out their brand new shoes.
The first Wichita In-Store shopping event is scheduled for December 12th. This is the same day as the Wichita Holiday Open House Event. Wichita Area foster parents will be receiving their certificates at the holiday party and then can take them to the local Payless to select new shoes for their children in foster care.
“This year, we received nearly 700 applications. We’re honored that so many nonprofit organizations, including KVC, believe in our program and applied to be our partners.”
-Cristis Allen, Director, Corporate Communication & Community Investment
