Connect Parent Group
Strengthen Your Bond with Your Child!
Free Kansas Parenting Classes
Is your pre-teen or teen pulling away? Wondering if your role as a parent still matters? Research shows that a strong relationship with parents is the key to helping teens thrive and stay safe during adolescence. That’s why we offer Connect Parent Groups—a free, expert-led program designed to help you build and strengthen your connection with your teen.
What is Connect Parent Group?
Connect Parent Group is a supportive program for parents and caregivers (relatives, non-related kinship caregivers and foster parents) looking to improve their relationships with their children 8-18 years old. Adolescence is a time of change, and while your teen seeks more independence, they still need your guidance. Our program helps you understand their evolving needs and equips you with practical strategies to navigate these challenges with confidence.
Developed by leading experts, Connect Parent Group empowers you to foster a healthier, more resilient relationship with your teen.

What to Expect in a Connect Parent Group
In Connect Parent Group, parents and caregivers meet in small groups with two trained leaders for 90 minutes each week over 10 weeks.
- Each week, you’ll focus on a new topic about teen development and the parent-teen relationship.
- You’ll watch role plays, try activities, and join discussions to better understand and handle challenging behaviors.
- You’ll receive a handout at each session with key takeaways to apply at home.
Connect understands that every parent-teen relationship is unique. Instead of offering one-size-fits-all advice, we help you find solutions that work best for your family, support healthy relationships, and set clear boundaries.
Before the program starts, you’ll meet with the group leaders to learn more about how it works and see if it’s the right fit for you.
Does Connect Work? YES!
Yes! After joining Connect Parent Group, parents feel less stressed and more confident in their parenting. They also notice fewer behavior problems and better social skills in their teens.
- 97% of parents feel they better understand their child.
- 95% feel they better understand themselves as a parent.
- 86% see positive changes in their relationship with their teen after using what they learned.
Parents also value the confidence they gain and the support from the group leaders. They finish the program feeling hopeful and excited about their growing relationship with their teen!
