Healthy Families America – Home Visiting Program
Family-Focused, Empathic Support Through Healthy Families America
KVC Kansas’ Healthy Families America (HFA) program helps families with family-focused and empathetic home visiting services. We provide evidence-based parent and child education to create a healthy home environment. These services ultimately prevent child abuse and neglect, while promoting child and family wellbeing.
This program is strength-based, culturally sensitive, family-centered and trauma-informed. We provide these services throughout northeastern Kansas and accept referrals from the Kansas Department for Children and Families. Our program is nationally accredited and affiliated with Healthy Families America.
Families participate in a range of services tailored to improve their safety, health and wellbeing, parenting skills, and family functioning.
Through KVC’s Healthy Families America program, families receive:
- In-home visits and individualized support plans developed in partnership with families
- Parent education to help children develop healthy social, emotional and cognitive skills
- Incentives for meaningful progress
- Referrals to other supportive programs and resources as needed
Upon completion of this program, families gain:
- Improved physical and mental wellbeing through access to healthcare
